At its core, Steingold’s is a Jewish deli—albeit one that embraces the world around it while still keeping one foot firmly planted in the classic delis of NYC’s Lower East Side. Lox is cured in-house, pastrami is cut thick to order and bagels are boiled and baked daily with dough that’s fermented overnight.
We have a rebellious side, too, as the latke tots and Sister-In-Law Sandwich with dill kimchi can attest. We’ve taken the timeless tradition and ever so slightly turned it on its head. We think bubbe would approve.
